Technologies Used
New Module:
Azure AI Services, Blazor Server App
Existing App:
ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server
Overview:
The client, a large enterprise, needed to enhance their existing application with modern AI capabilities to streamline document processing and perform advanced analytics. Their current system, built on ASP .NET MVC with a SQL Server backend, required significant upgrades to handle the increasing demand for automation and intelligent data extraction from large sets of documents. Ivtics was tasked with developing a new module that leverages Azure AI services to perform document analysis, data extraction, and provide deep insights through advanced analytics.
The project focused on seamlessly integrating Azure AI services with the existing enterprise system to enhance document processing workflows. This integration allowed the client to automate manual document reviews and generate actionable insights from large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
Challenges:
One of the key challenges was integrating modern AI functionalities into an existing legacy system without disrupting ongoing operations. The client’s enterprise app was built on an ASP.NET MVC architecture, which required careful planning to ensure compatibility with the new Azure AI-based module. Additionally, data security and privacy were critical due to the sensitive nature of the documents processed, necessitating stringent adherence to compliance protocols.
Another challenge was optimizing the document processing flow to reduce manual intervention. The new solution had to be able to handle multiple types of documents, from invoices to contracts, and extract key data fields with high accuracy using Azure’s AI services.
Solution:
To meet the client’s needs, Ivtics developed a separate module using Azure AI services that integrated directly with their existing ASP.NET MVC app. The new module, built using Blazor Server, allowed the client to add advanced AI-driven document processing capabilities without overhauling the entire system.
Azure AI’s Cognitive Services were used for optical character recognition (OCR), natural language processing (NLP), and data extraction from various document formats such as PDFs, images, and scanned documents. This enabled the system to process documents automatically, extracting relevant data fields such as names, dates, addresses, and key metrics for analysis.
The Blazor Server app was deployed to serve as an intuitive frontend interface for users to review processed documents, verify extracted data, and generate reports with advanced analytics. The existing SQL Server continued to store processed data securely while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Key Features:
- Automated Document Processing: Leveraged Azure AI’s OCR and NLP capabilities to extract structured data from various document types
- Real-time Analytics: Provided deep insights into document content through advanced analytics
- Seamless Integration: New module developed with Blazor Server app integrated with the existing ASP.NET MVC framework
- User-Friendly Interface: Enhanced user experience with a streamlined review process and report generation via Blazor frontend
- Data Security & Compliance: Maintained high standards of data security and privacy using Azure’s built-in security features
Results:
The integration of Azure AI into the client’s enterprise app resulted in a 50% reduction in manual document processing time, significantly improving operational efficiency. The new module automated the extraction of key information, which previously required manual input, saving the client hours of labor each week. Moreover, the real-time analytics capabilities provided by the solution enabled the client to gain valuable insights from document data, improving decision-making processes across departments.
The Blazor Server app interface made the system more user-friendly, providing employees with a centralized platform to review documents and generate reports quickly. Feedback from users highlighted the system’s ability to streamline document workflows and enhance productivity across the organization.
